Syailendra Capital, one of the leading investment company in Indonesia, was asking for an interior renovation to expand their office to incorporate more staff and directors. The site is in a building that is located in central business district of Jakarta, with panoramic view through the large openings to surrounding skyscrapers.
The project challenge was to conduct a fast renovation while the company is running. The long working hours – with some busiest hours after trading is closed - and the importance of serene working environment for the staff, are some critical points that should be taken into account during the construction. A temporary wall was then set up to secure the busy area, and a tight schedule was performed to minimize interruption to the office’s busy working operation.
In order to re -layout the representative function such as meeting & board of directors’ rooms, architect has to move few of supporting rooms to back area of the office. A large existing filing room is dismantled and converted into tall filing cabinets along office corridor to get extra space for new staff. Full-height-glass-partition is spread through the layout to create privacy as well as giving visual connection between divisions, and acoustic-gypsum-walls are built between meeting rooms for soundproofing purpose. Muted colours are applied all over the wall & floor finishes, acting as palette for paintings & artwork, thus giving an artistic touch and relaxing ambience to balance the corporate-feel of the space.
